The Aadicura September 2025 Newsletter focuses on cardiothoracic health awareness while presenting a landmark neurosurgical success and major institutional milestones. The issue opens with a “Myths vs Facts” feature from the Cardiothoracic Department, addressing common misconceptions surrounding heart and lung care. It clarifies that heart surgery is not limited to the elderly and may be required in congenital defects or traumatic conditions in younger patients. The section emphasises that absence of symptoms does not guarantee cardiac health, open-heart surgery does not always involve prolonged recovery due to minimally invasive techniques, and bypass surgery does not eliminate the need for lifestyle modification. It further dispels the belief that lung disease occurs only in smokers and that surgery should always be the last resort. The feature reinforces that cardiothoracic procedures have become significantly safer with advances in technology, ICU care, and surgical expertise. Practical guidance for maintaining cardiovascular health includes quitting smoking, improving sleep, staying active, monitoring blood parameters, deep breathing exercises, and adhering to follow-up care. The department highlights Dr Apurv Vaidya, Cardiothoracic Surgeon, underscoring specialised surgical expertise at Aadicura.

The “Know Your Team” section introduces key non-clinical leaders including Dolly Gandhi (Manager, Purchase & Inventory), Manisha Shah (In-Charge, Credit Billing), and Dharti Goswami (In-Charge, OPD). Their insights emphasise procurement efficiency, transparent billing processes, patient support systems, and coordinated operations. This segment reinforces that seamless administrative systems contribute significantly to patient safety, service quality, and institutional credibility.

The success story titled “Surgical Excellence in Rare Moya-Moya Disease” presents a young patient who was admitted with severe headache, vomiting, and mild left-sided weakness. Imaging revealed right temporal intracerebral haemorrhage with intraventricular extension. Digital Subtraction Angiography confirmed significant stenosis of the right internal carotid artery consistent with Moya-Moya disease, a rare progressive narrowing of cerebral arteries. Given the high risk of recurrent stroke, the patient underwent a Superficial Temporal Artery to Middle Cerebral Artery (STA-MCA) bypass procedure. This intricate microsurgical intervention restored critical blood flow to the brain and was completed successfully without complications. The patient recovered well and was discharged in stable condition. The case, managed by Dr Sandip Mavani, Dr Ashish Desai, and Dr Vithal Rangarajan, represents a first-of-its-kind achievement in the city and sets a benchmark for advanced cerebrovascular surgery in the region.

The “Star Performers” section recognises Dr Vidhi Limbasiya as Best Doctor of the Month. Dolly Gandhi, Darshana Gandhi, Pradip Rathod, and Jignesh Parmar were honoured as Best Employees of the Month. Tarun Jangid received recognition as Best Nursing Staff, while Shiny Dsouza, Ajay Makwana, and Dharmistha Bhagora were acknowledged as Best Nursing Staff of the Month. Akash Patel and Bhavika Chauhan were recognised as Best Multitasking Staff. This structured recognition reflects Aadicura’s culture of multidisciplinary excellence and sustained performance standards.
