The Aadicura November 2025 Newsletter places focused attention on Ophthalmology & Oculoplasty, addressing common misconceptions that often delay appropriate eye care. On **Page 1**, under the “Myths vs Facts” feature, the newsletter clarifies that wearing glasses does not weaken eyesight but simply corrects vision, and skipping them may worsen strain and headaches. It explains that eye exercises cannot permanently correct refractive errors such as myopia or astigmatism, and that green or herbal remedies cannot replace professional treatment for conditions like glaucoma or corneal infections. The page also dispels concerns that watching screens in the dark causes permanent damage, noting instead that it may trigger temporary eye strain. Additional clarifications include the risks of unsupervised use of eye drops, the fact that cataracts are not limited to the elderly, and that oculoplasty procedures are not purely aesthetic but also address functional concerns such as droopy eyelids, blocked tear ducts, orbital injuries, or tumours. The department features Dr Surbhi Kapadia, Ophthalmologist & Oculoplasty Surgeon.

The page further outlines “Expert Tips for Healthy Eyes & Oculoplasty Care,” including adherence to the 20-20-20 rule to reduce digital strain, maintaining eyelid hygiene, protecting eyes from UV exposure, scheduling regular eye check-ups, evaluating persistent symptoms promptly, and being aware of reconstructive options when required. The emphasis remains on early detection and structured specialist consultation to preserve long-term visual health.

On **Page 2**, the newsletter presents a detailed success story titled “Advanced Endoscopic Treatment Saves Patient with Life-Threatening Fundic Varix Bleed.” A 65-year-old woman with Metabolic Dysfunction Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD), cirrhosis, and portal hypertension presented with melena indicative of gastrointestinal bleeding. Endoscopy revealed a fundic varix with recent bleeding. CT angiography confirmed a large afferent feeder vessel and splenorenal shunt. To precisely map the vascular anatomy, the team performed Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), allowing targeted therapy.

Once the anatomy was defined, an EUS-guided coil and glue embolisation was performed using a 19G needle under fluoroscopy and EUS guidance. Metallic coils were placed within the varix, followed by injection of medical-grade glue mixed with Lipiodol for real-time imaging. Post-procedure imaging confirmed complete obliteration of the feeder vessel and splenorenal shunt, effectively controlling the bleed and avoiding major surgery. The Gastroenterology, Hepatology & GI Endoscopy specialists featured include Dr Chirayu Chokshi, Dr Dhaval Dave, and Dr Jaydeep Patel, highlighting Aadicura’s advanced endoscopic and interventional expertise.

The “Star Performers” section on Page 2 recognises Dr Pradip Machhar as Best Doctor of the Month. Dr Rachana Bhatt and Ms Bhavisha Mehta were honoured as Best Employees of the Month. Ms Nutan Pargi and Ms Aji Patel received recognition as Best Nursing Staff, while Ms Laxmiben Shinde and Mr Dharmesh Harijan were acknowledged as Best Multitasking Staff. Mr Shivprasad was recognised as Best Security Staff. This segment reflects Aadicura’s culture of structured recognition across clinical and support departments.

On **Page 3**, the newsletter captures “Festive Vibes at Aadicura,” documenting Diwali celebrations across the hospital. Activities included a Rangoli Making Competition themed around Infection Prevention, an Ethnic Best Dressed Competition, Diya Making Competition, a Family Get Together, and celebrations with patients. The visual documentation highlights employee engagement, cultural inclusivity, and patient-centred celebration, reinforcing the hospital’s emphasis on morale and community spirit within clinical settings.

The **Event Gallery on Page 4** documents a series of outreach and awareness initiatives. On World Mental Health Day, an insightful session on stress management was conducted. A general health check-up camp was organised at Pakona Engineering Pvt Ltd, Savli, and a CME session was held with the Indian Association of Occupational Health (IAOH), Bharuch. A health talk for Anganwadi ladies at Ashwath Auditorium focused on preventive eye care and common vision issues. Additional initiatives included a Basic Health Check-up Camp with dietitian counselling at HDFC Home Loan Office and Infection Control Week celebrations featuring activities and performances centred on hygiene practices. These engagements reflect Aadicura’s commitment to preventive care, occupational health, community education, and institutional quality standards.

Overall, the November 2025 Newsletter reflects Aadicura Superspeciality Hospital’s integrated approach to specialist-led ophthalmic care, advanced endoscopic intervention, team recognition, festive inclusivity, and structured community outreach. The issue reinforces the hospital’s commitment to clinical precision, early diagnosis, minimally invasive treatment strategies, and sustained engagement with both patients and the broader community.
