Glomeruler diseases- It is a specific type of kidney disease with symptoms of swelling feet and passing protein and blood in urine, which can lead to kidney failure. Kidney Biopsy- For diagnosis of kidney diseases, some patients are benefitted by kidney biopsy. This is a routine procedure in nephrology. The patient before the biopsy is explained the process and mild risk of bleeding involved. Under ultrasound guidance (rarely CT guidance) small samples of kidney tissue are taken with an automatic gun, and those are sent for evaluation to pathologists. This report helps in diagnosis of type and severity of kidney disease and further treatment plans can be decided. The patient has to stay admitted one day for kidney biopsy. Some patients may find blood in urine for a few days after biopsy, which generally stops by itself. Major complications after biopsy are not common.
